Location

Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump is located 18 kilometres (15 minutes) north and west of Fort Macleod on secondary Highway #785 (paved).

Directions from Calgary
Head south of city limits on Macleod Trail or Deerfoot Trail and continue south on Hwy 2 for approximately 160 km until you see the signs for Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump and Highway 785 West. The turnoff for Hwy 785 West is approximately 1 km north of the major intersection with Hwy 3. If you cross the Old Man River you have missed the turnoff and gone too far south.
