The smells are sweet, the noise is big, the machines are giants and the fun is huge - it's Harvest Festival at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum in Wetaskiwin on September 3 and 4, 2016.

Before attending this year's Harvest Festival, there are a few things to know:

When you visit

  • There are two admission windows at the museum's drive-through admission booth. To keep lines moving, one side will accept cash and site passes; the other will accept credit.
  • Come early to avoid lineups
  • Parking is free
  • RV and motorcycle parking is available
  • Handicapped parking is limited
  • The Harvest Festival will take place rain or shine - check the forecast before you head out!
  • There will be an ATM onsite located outside the Museum Store.

What's happening inside the museum?

  • New this year!! ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen will have an interactive display with home economists available to answer your household questions. The focus will be on pickling and canning, as well as bread baking. There will be samples, games and an “enter to win” contest.

What's happening on the museum grounds?

  • Threshing, ploughing, binding, stoking and field work demonstrations
  • Stationary engine display
  • Free tractor rides
  • Martin Deerline showcases modern-day John Deere harvest equipment and lawn and garden equipment
  • Wetaskiwin Farmers Market
  • Friends of the Reynolds-Alberta Museum Society 50-50 draw
  • Last weekend for Open Cockpit Bi-plane rides
  • Food vendors
  • Family Fun Zone
  • New this year!! Thistle Hill Farm Petting Zoo. Animals include miniature pony, zebu cow/calf, goats/kids, sheep/lambs, a pig, fancy poultry, ducks/goose, fancy rabbits/baby bunnies, and guinea pigs.


How will I get around?

  • Tractor-pulled people movers for transportation on site
  • No vintage vehicle tours this weekend
  • Limited number of scooters, wheelchairs and wagons available - first come, first served

Can I bring my pets?

  • Pets are allowed on the grounds as long as they are on a leash
  • No pets are allowed in either of the museum buildings
